Literature Text

Here I sit at the end of the world.
The flower in my hands, once golden
Now dead.
My feet lie in ash, my body in shadow
My heart dies in loneliness.
The air that swirls around me
Never to be tasted again.

I pick at the petals, counting
Playing a child's game
The shrivelled fingers falling
Down to the dying earth.
The soft dust rains around me,
Blanketing all I see.

The never-ending storm above,
Covering my world in darkness.
The shadow eating at my heart,
Slowly spreading.
My soul tired of being alone,
Alone in this wasteland

A single tear falls from my cheek,
A sign of my sadness.
I don't wish for life, or sun
Or a free breath of untainted air.
I don't wish for shelter or death
Or to go back to the way things were.
I just wish I had you.
Not particularly fantastic but, meh. felt the need to share.

WoW, Deep Mitchell. You should put this to be published in that Public Library collection?
